Nizamia Journal of Islamic Studies (NJIS) is a peer-reviewed, open-access scholarly journal that serves as an academic forum for the development of Interdisciplinary Islamic Studies. The journal is dedicated to publishing original and rigorous scholarship that examines Islam as a religious, intellectual, textual, historical, social, cultural, educational, legal, ethical, and civilizational tradition.

NJIS welcomes manuscripts that explore both classical Islamic intellectual heritage and contemporary Muslim societies. The journal gives particular attention to studies on Qur’anic and Hadith scholarship, Islamic thought, Islamic law, Islamic education, Islamic philosophy, Islamic history and civilization, Islamic ethics, Islamic economics, Islamic communication, Muslim culture, gender, politics, digital Islam, and the changing relationship between Islam and modern social life.

As an interdisciplinary journal, NJIS encourages scholarly works that connect Islamic studies with the humanities, social sciences, education, communication and media studies, law, politics, economics, cultural studies, and digital studies.
